If you think having a low budget wedding that will be memorable is impossible, then am about to freakily low your mind. here are what you must do to achieve that
event venue:
the venue matters a lot for easy location by your guest. if you are looking at having a low budget but a memorable wedding, then you can still have it aside paying a huge amount of money for an event center. think of your local community hall or church they have chairs. think of any primary school in a strategic place or even a sports club. You might know someone with a big yard or a bit of land where you can have an awesome wedding. you will not believe the venue when your event Decorator must have done with it
cake:
Choose a fake cake: If you don’t want to spend out on an elegant segmented cake, there is a more budget-friendly alternative available. You can ask your baker to make the top of the cake as regular so that it can be sliced, and the rest can be made from Styrofoam. (Another suggestion to only go for a smaller cake). Then you would have a regular (but equally tasty!) cake at your disposal, which you can serve to the guests. don’t waste money making a long segmented cake when your guest already have food to feed on. most of all those wedding cake is fake.
wedding dress
There are so many ways to get a beautiful dress without spending a lot of money. remember you are only going to wear this dress just once. you may never know you are overspending till you start borrowing. if you are looking at spending less on your dress then go renting. some shops rent a neat wedding gown, you can also buy already used wedding gown at a cheaper rate. but peradventure you do like to wear your wedding dress for some functions in the future. then there is a better alternative for you Here’s what you need to do, buy a very nice simple dress, take it to your seamstress to add a bunch of personalized pieces. You can search online for your favorite embellishment designs. If you’re obsessed with a look, buy a dress that’s nearest to what you really want, and then have a seamstress alter it. even after the wedding, you will still be rocking your dress.
invitation card
there should be no need for an invitation card! use bulk SMS instead, but if you are good with Microsoft and you wish to send an invitation card to people then design the card yourself. the printing will not cost much
Food:
many cooks especially during festive seasons when they are in high demand charges very high. it better to look for caterers who are getting started, you can usually get a better deal. or you may allow your family members and a few friends to help out with the cooking. most of them are willing to help out on your big day.
Drink
Stick to beer and wine, not spirits – It’s cheaper, less likely to end in excessive drunkenness, In terms of buying drinks, Get your alcohol from a distributor. Distributors will typically only deal with people willing to place a large order. it cheaper than buying from a store because they add a mark up after buying from the same distributor
makeup
if you can make yourself up that’s great. then do it on your wedding day to save costs. If not, are there friends you have who can help? you should know among your friends who are good at makeup, they will be happy to help you. you should also practice as well, yes youtube tutorials are there to put you through. I also learned people visit makeup place for two or three days of basic makeup training, you can do that as well, it will benefit you later
DJ
I know people like to dance, but DJs sometimes are usually just annoying. it will surprise you to know that some people around you really need an opportunity with a little cash, just to play for you on your wedding day. they already have the instruments ready at home. just ask around.
Photographer
you can decide to pay a photographer per hour, depending on the agreement. you can reach an agreement that will warrant him snapping only after the wedding. then during your reception, you can make use of your camera phones.
MC
Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary to hire an mc if you have any friend or relative who is very comfortable with public speaking. it better for someone y you know to be the one moderating the event. I add more humor to your wedding as they tend to bring in some level of intimacy.
Shoe
There will be no need for fancy shoes because nobody is seeing your shoe anyway. remember your dress covers it all, a good normal silver shoe that will allow you to move freely is ok. if you already have one, there would be no need to get another.
Although these tips will cut your wedding costs to a certain degree, be prepared to make your wallet lighter by the end of the day because there are a lot of last-minute items and costs that come up that you just can’t avoid, so it’s essential to have that money reserve for these unforeseen expenses
I don’t mean to be critical of all of these things; at the end of the day, you need to know what’s important to you. If you’re interested in something, spend your money on it! But if you don’t really care about it, don’t waste money just because you think you need to. To have a low budget but a memorable wedding, all you need is good people, food, drink, and music. None of these items are going to really be really costly.
