Forget the warning at the visa agency, Nigeria isn’t as grim as they make it look. It’s a nice place to be, you just have to be careful of certain stuff, I decided to write this to build your knowledge so you don’t fall, victim to problems you can Avoid
Transportation
Transactions
Cost of living
The major transport
The two best options for traveling around the country is by road or by air. Do not use trains nor boats unless you are going to resorts in Lagos, Kaduna, or Abuja. but if not travel by air or road.
Conduct
Limit your public conversations on topics such as religion, atheism, ethnicity, feminism, sex, etc.
The newer Generation is open-minded enough for this conversation especially online but the older generations are not that open-minded.
We are a tiny little conservative still. Such a subject can spark up a battle that you can not manage, so you should address a subject that does not offend people around
Public show of affection
A public show of affections is allowed but be cautious about the environments in which you are doing so. Sharia law prevails in the Northern part of the country, I hope you know what that means.
We don’t allow same-sex marriage. Currently, same-sex couples that are caught will be jailed for 14 years, and you don’t want to do that.
Buses
Busses are crap here, you don’t want to do that unless you’re using a bus app called ‘plenty waka.’ They’re reliable, clean and AC fitted, but they’re just operating in Lagos and Abuja at the moment.
This is if you don’t want to use Uber, but if you have enough time, you can board our buses for a different experience, and witness the real struggle in Nigeria, travel is part of the experience and you can give it a trial.
You do have to remember that the buses are overcrowded and if you are not careful you may lose your phone or wallet
Traffic
Security
Except for a few dishonest cops and swindling security agents, the cities are relatively secure but do not stay out too late and stay around people.
You may be worried about security because but the truth is some places here are safer than your home country.
Some of us are so busy with our lives that we won’t even have your time, but if you feel like you’re in danger, run to a crowd of locals, they’ll always help you out and fight for you particularly as a foreigner.
Food
It’s a beautiful country with great food so if you’re a food lover, prepare to get fat from our meals that are rich in carbohydrates. Don’t expect to see any of your taco and pizza here, but if you happen to be around Lagos you can still get your country meal at their continental restaurants. we have rich meals that will make you come back again.
Personal security
Do not reveal costly devices in beat-up neighborhoods, it’s called begging for attention, smiles, the fine guys will take it from you, and sell it for a quarter of the size. Before you start to flaunt your costly accessories, first, study the area.
Don’t get into trouble intentionally and expect the police to respond, OR dial any number expecting immediate action, the Nigerian police won’t pick up your call, and even if they do, you won’t see them as though they were due.
Only when you go to their station, which may be far from where you are, can you get the police to act.
Follow all of the rules and you’ll have a fun and healthy trip.
Voluntary accommodation
There are no hostels for female solo travelers in Nigeria, but there are hotels with tight security everywhere, and they’re cheaper than you might have thought
Medication
Endeavor to come with enough drugs, especially malaria tablets, peradventure you feel sick, though there are pharmaceutical outlets everywhere, you must come with drugs that your body has gotten used to.
Nigeria is a lovely place to be and we are full of surprises, there will always be something to fascinate you and change your perception when you visit us.
If you have any questions put them in the comment section, but if you think something is missing here, let us hear about it

Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!
